From vines in Tournon, Mauves and St.-Jean-de-Muzols including a two and one-half hectare parcel of old vines from Raymond Trollat. A great vintage for this domaine, which is truly one of the finest in the northern Rhone. While the 2007 somewhat lacks the structure of the 2005 and 2006, there is good acidity here and enough grip to hold this wine nicely for 10 to 15 years. It has gorgeous aromas that float far above the glass, red fruits, blueberry, plum, brown spice, pepper and some good old syrah funk. It's a bit closed now perhaps but with decanting or a night open it's a great wine and a fabulous value. We're honored to be working directly with Jean and Pierre - their organic work in the vineyard and great natural winemaking are inspirational and delicious!
