PIF invites you to the Real Wine Attack!

The Real Wine Attack 2008! Saturday, April 19th, 4 to 8pm at Cercle Rouge Restaurant, 241 West Broadway.

It's our biggest event of the year! The greatest group of Natural wine-makers ever assembled in New York! (Maybe...) To relieve the crowded conditions at the store, we move to the spacious Le Cercle Rouge Restaurant on West Broadway, but come early to beat the crowd and taste all the special bottlings that will be brought in for this tasting. Official blurb and list of winemakers follows - Don't miss this fabulous, educational and delicious event! Will Pierre Breton start singing? (Please note - Jean-Paul Brun has to leave early to catch his flight home. Beaujolais lovers come at 4:00!)

Twenty-Two of the leading “Natural” winemakers in France and Italy will present a public tasting, sponsored by Chambers Street Wines and Louis/Dressner Selections, on Saturday, April 19th, from 4 to 8:00pm, at Le Cercle Rouge Restaurant in Tribeca. These winemakers offer an alternative to “international-style” vinification and the physical and chemical interventions done at the vast majority of modern wineries. Their vineyards are farmed sustainably or organically, harvesting is by hand, fermentations are with wild yeasts and the aging and bottling are done with the least intervention possible, giving wines with the maximum expression of the grapes, the terroir and and the vintage. Reservations not required, $5.00 glass fee at the door (you keep the glass). Le Cercle Rouge Restaurant 241 West Broadway. For more information please call Chambers Street Wines (212) 227-1434.

Winemakers in attendance: Matthieu Baudry, Chinon; Piere Breton, Bourgueil; Jean-Paul Brun, Domaine Terres Dorées, Beaujolais; Natalie and Christian Chaussard, Le Briseau, Jasnières; Evelyn de Jessy, Domaine du Closel, Savennières; Georges Descombes, Morgon (Beaujolais); Louis-Benoit Desvignes, Morgon; Fredrik Filliatreau, Saumur-Champigny; Grégoire Hubau, Chateau Moulin Pey-Labrie, Canon-Fronsac; Olivier and Cécile Lemasson, Les Vins Contés, Touraine; Jean Manciat, Macon; Marc Olliver, Domaine de la Pépière, Muscadet; Frank Peillot, Bugey; François and Suzanne Pinon, Vouvray; Thierry Puzelat, Clos du Tue-Boeuf, Touraine; Suzana and Sasa Radikon, Friuli; Elie Renardat, Bugey; Catherine Roussel and Didier Barouillet, Clos Roche Blanche, Touraine; Pascal and Annick Quénard, Savoie; Michel and Francoise Tête, Juliénas (Beaujolais); Lawrence and Eric Texier, Rhône; and Jean-Paul Versino, Domaine Bois de Boursan, Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
